Ring of Fire

I know I told you about how my weekend started with Eva popping into the Atelier, but I forgot to point out how her fingernail color was outstanding in the filtered skylight-glow of dusk.

Then, on Saturday, Daniel Brodo drove a truck load of my paintings up from the Kristi Engle Gallery.  You probably recognize Daniel as the bass player for Refrigerator.
Actually, Daniel was understandably distracted this weekend by constant text updates as the singer of his band was receiving a new heart.

Also, we had to take some time out to watch the solar eclipse of course.

But finally, Kevin's sculpture workshop was over and the two guys got to sit down and talk about the third dimension. . . and fine art. . . and post structuralism.

The talking moved to The Playwright where we were joined by Julie O, Matthew, and Claire.

I didn't have time to credit Claire's sculpture in a previous post.  And it has been six years since I have done a fancy studio visit to Matthew's work space.  Maybe this whole Atelier LaRose thing will get me back in the swing.

1. So much goodness going on at the atelier. Truly wonderful and inspirational.
2. Glad the blog is staying current, because

3. I'm considering becoming a fb dropout.

Funny how those things feed in a loop. You've been doing some good blogging lately MA, and you've been the inspiration over here.
