It strikes me that there are a LOT of things to be said about the observer and how he/she is tied to he nude. It just feels so adolescent or something; like I feel a little bit of shame for wanting to allow myself to stare at the nude woman over the shoulder of the observer. Indefinitely. I really like the relationships between objects in paintings like this. There is a ton of tension there.
