Marc pointed me towards a fine example with Slice Harvester, a blog that follows" some shmuck who plans to eat a slice at every NYC pizzeria". . . and blog about it. One of my favorite side projects of Marc's (besides 10,00 Pixels which I contributed to briefly) is his daughter's blog Rachel Draws a Lot (which I actually subscribe to, so I am technically posting it out of alphabetical sequence).
But Marc's point is well taken. Most of us struggle for brief moments of artfulness in our lives. I like to see that human quality of struggle. Their art is less important. As for the few who are able to maintain a consistently high level of art, I love to see their awkward struggles with being human. There is nothing better than when a genius trusts you enough to let down their guard.
But at least Harold also supplies soundtracks: Thee Oh Sees - Broken Stems.mp3To be fair, Harold, is a facebook friend and I can keep up with his life over there. But it brings up the point that fcbk sort of pulled the rug out from under the blogosphere. I'm not talking about the bloggers who broadcast to enormous audiences, but those who were maintaining a manageable mid-size community of givers and takers.

Christoper Saunders over at High Low and in Between was one of the first bloggers that I felt a sense of community with. Imagine, this was almost five years ago. He has been through a lot, and his blog waxes and wanes, but it is always there, pushing, promoting, and pontificating, even when at a trickle.
