Does it count as a Day Job if it is our house?

A couple of weekends ago, I started to wipe down our cabinets. The goal was to clean them. The cat tracks, dog spatters, and mysterious sticky globs had reached a pinnacle of unpalatable patina. Five years ago I had applied a simple treatment to the inside panels.
As I was cleaning, I found that the "work" was annoying. "I might as well simply repaint these," I thought. Over the years, Stacy had occasionally mentioned that she felt we could go darker with the cabinets. Of course, one thing led to another and we ended up here:

This looks great. Did you apply a finish or top coat, or is this the sanded paint sheen?

2 coats brown
2 coats tinted Varathane (translucent black)
wet sand
final coat of tinted Varathane (translucent purple)
